DaVinci’s Lady with an Ermine

Davinci’s Lady with an Ermine. I started reading Classical Painting Atelier by Juliette Aristides  and one of the lessons has you copy a master painting in monotone. The point of the lesson is to gain an understanding of value from a master’s work. I used charcoal because it’s a medium I’m pretty comfotable with and I find it extremely forgiving. I will eventually do a value oil painting of Lady with an Ermine.

Good thing charcoal is so forgiving! Definitely a work in progress.
